Kshama Solidarity Doorknocking Launch!

Summer's coming, our staff are all vaccinated, and that means it's time to get out to defend the right to protest and keep Councilmember Sawant in office! Come out to KSC's Summer Doorknocking Launch at 10 AM Sunday May 23 in Pratt Park to get involved and talk to your D3 neighbors about why we need to keep our voice for working people in City Hall!
As of last week, the right-wing Recall has begun putting its corporate billionaire money to use and begun collecting signatures for their petition. They've sent it to over 40,000 people by mail and started actively clipboarding in the District. Despite claiming to be "concerned citizens," it's also come out that not only is the Recall corporate and right-wing backed, they're now enlisting plain-clothes Seattle police officers to gather signatures in the very district teargassed during the Black Lives Matter movement last summer!
Since the State Supreme Court sided with the right-wing Recall effort on April 2 in the effort to criminalize protest and against a background where Republicans are introducing 81 separate bills nationally to suppress voting rights, we have had a powerful outpouring of support from working and middle-class people across District 3. Our Covid-safe tabling has become a hallmark of the District and been greeted with enthusiasm, with thousands taking the pledge to #DeclineToSign the Recall petition and donating what little they have in terms of time and money. It's clear the real concerned citizens of District 3 want to keep Councilmember Sawant in office!
Now more than ever we have to build on our momentum and reach out to ordinary people in District 3 to deliver the truth about the Recall effort: that it is a political attack against Black Lives Matter, Tax Amazon and all movements for social and economic justice for working people. See you there!
